Communicating key messages through animation

Bristol Airport connects the South West of England to 116 destinations and is the UK’s most punctual airport.

The Government is considering devolution of Air Passenger Duty to Wales and the South West economy is set to lose £843 million and 1,569 jobs if this goes ahead. This also means cheaper flights from Cardiff, with Bristol Airport losing destinations, passengers and jobs. Bristol Airport needed a video to build support for their campaign “A Fair Flight For The South West”.

Working with a copywriter we created a friendly and clear message that everyone could understand, using a flat illustrative style. I created storyboards mapping out the narrative and brought this to life through animation.

The video was promoted across a variety of platforms and acted as a key method of communication to get local people and businesses involved. Watch it below!

Following the success of the video, Bristol Airport commissioned another video in the same style to make their annual sustainability report more digestible for their audience. Watch it below!

In 2017 we were commissioned to create a new video to support Bristol Airport’s future development Masterplan. The nature of the content meant that we needed to adapt the style – creating a more open and fresh animation. Watch it below!
